Hungry Hearts Charity, Food Donations

"Hungry Hearts Charity" (unregistered) is an outreach program by Kechari - The Hatha Yoga Studio as part of Karma Yoga, to feed the hungry. Once a month we collect donations and\or food from homes especially cooked for this initiative and donate it to people in the slums, old age homes, orphanages and such. The idea is to ensure that there are no hungry mouths on the planet. It also inculcates a sense of service to humanity in people.

Hungry Hearts Charity has been conducting food donation programs since June 2019 with the help of donors who are like minded and believe in our cause.

Though the project is run on a small scale the realization has been that there are a lot of people who go without a meal a day. Their stories are heartbreaking, some are thrown out of their homes, some going through a bad break-up, some have lost their business n hence lost all their money & home and some have lost their agricultural land back home n have come to Bangalore looking for a livelihood.

So we at Hungry Hearts Charity request all to make a small monthly donation, whether it's Rs. 50, 100, 500 or 1000 so that more homeless people out there can enjoy a meal, the food which most of us take for granted.

In case you choose to cook at home and want to volunteer with us to distribute, please follow the guidelines,

The food will have to be

1. Vegetarian

2. Non gravy so it doesn't spill from the package.

3. Sufficient quantity to fill a person's appetite (approximate)

4. Packed as individual meals.
